Xac Broncos Become First Mongolian Team to Qualify for East Asia Super League

By winning 'The League' Finals in six games, the Broncos will represent Mongolia in the 2025-26 EASL season.

The Xac Broncos have become the first team from Mongolia to qualify for an East Asia Super League (EASL) season, earning their spot in the 2025–26 campaign after winning the 2024–25 “The League” Championship. The Broncos’ qualification marks a historic milestone for Mongolian basketball and is a part of EASL’s expansion from 10 to 12 teams.

The Broncos secured their second straight domestic title after defeating rivals Bishrelt Metal in a hard-fought six-game Finals series. This year’s championship carried extra significance, with EASL confirming earlier in the season that Mongolia’s champion would receive an automatic berth.

“The Xac Broncos’ victory in ‘The League’ Finals and their qualification for the 2025–26 EASL season is a proud moment for Mongolian basketball,” said Mr. Tugsjargal Sambuu, Secretary General of the Mongolian Basketball Association (MBA). “This achievement showcases the growth of our sport and the dedication of our players, coaches, and fans. We are excited to see the Broncos compete against Asia’s elite teams and represent Mongolia on this prestigious stage, proving that we can compete at the highest level.”

The Finals series saw momentum swing back and forth. Bishrelt Metal opened with a narrow win in Game 1, but the Broncos responded by taking Games 2 and 3 to move ahead in the series. Bishrelt then leveled the series with a Game 4 win, before the Broncos dominated Game 5 with an emphatic 84–48 victory. In Game 6, the Broncos completed the job with a championship-clinching win, officially punching their ticket to the 2025–26 EASL season.

With the Broncos now confirmed, EASL’s 2025–26 lineup continues to take shape. The league will feature top teams from Japan, Korea, and Chinese Taipei, with more qualification announcements to follow soon.
