Seoul SK Knights Qualify For 2025-26 EASL Season

SK downs KT in 4 games to reach KBL Finals, returns to EASL since inaugural 2023-24 season

The Seoul SK Knights have secured their spot in the 2025-26 East Asia Super League (EASL) season after defeating the Suwon KT Sonicboom and advancing to the KBL Finals. This marks SK’s return to EASL competition following their debut in the league’s inaugural 2023-24 season. Prior to that, the Knights also competed in EASL Champions Week in 2023, before the league adopted its home-and-away season format.

During the 2023-24 EASL season, Seoul SK dominated Group B with a 4-2 record and earned a Final Four berth. The Knights ultimately fell just short in the EASL Championship Game, losing 72-69 to Japan’s Chiba Jets and finished as runners-up. SK did not qualify for the 2024-25 EASL season after falling in the KBL Round of 6.

In the 2024-25 KBL regular season, Seoul SK reclaimed their top form, posting a 41-13 record to claim the No. 1 seed. After receiving a Round of 6 bye, the Knights defeated Suwon KT in four games, bouncing back from a Game 3 road loss to close out the series.

SK’s playoff run has been fueled by star duo Jameel Warney and An Young Jun. Warney, now a four-time KBL Foreign MVP, averaged 22.6 points and 11.9 rebounds this season, while An captured Local MVP honors with 14.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Both players are aiming for their second KBL championship and the franchise’s second in the last four years.

With their EASL berth secured, Seoul SK will now chase a KBL title against the No. 2-seeded Changwon LG Sakers, who clinched their first-ever EASL qualification after sweeping Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus in the semifinals. The KBL Finals between SK and LG will tip off on May 5.
