EASL 2025–26 Season to Tip Off in Taipei and Tokyo

EASL Tip-Off 2025 starts Oct 8 with a Taipei doubleheader and the league’s first-ever game in Tokyo.

The stage is set for EASL Tip-Off 2025 on October 8, 2025, as the East Asia Super League launches its new season with games in two basketball hotbeds — Taipei and Tokyo. Fans in Chinese Taipei will be treated to a doubleheader at Taipei Heping Basketball Gymnasium, while Tokyo’s KEIO ARENA TOKYO will host the league’s first-ever game in Japan’s capital.

“When searching for a tip-off location, why not choose two beautiful, basketball-crazed cities?” said EASL Chief Executive Officer Henry Kerins. “On October 8, the B.LEAGUE vs. P. LEAGUE+ rivalry returns with a rematch of the 2025 Final Four semifinals in Taipei, while Tokyo will host a historic showdown between two EASL newcomers.”

Taipei Doubleheader

The night in Taipei will begin with a clash between B.LEAGUE champions Utsunomiya Brex and P. LEAGUE+ runners-up Taipei Fubon Braves. Utsunomiya, the club with the most championships in B.LEAGUE history, is led by veteran star Makoto Hiejima. Taipei Fubon, which came within one win of capturing its domestic title last season, features Chinese Taipei basketball icon Lin Chih-Chieh. Tip-off for this matchup is scheduled for 6:30 P.M. HKT.

The second game of the doubleheader will be a rematch of last season’s EASL Final Four semifinal between the P. LEAGUE+ champion Taoyuan Pauian Pilots and Japan’s Emperor’s Cup winner Ryukyu Golden Kings. In their most recent meeting, Taoyuan earned a 71–64 victory in a tense playoff battle. This time, Ryukyu will be seeking revenge, while Taoyuan will aim to prove they can once again defeat one of Asia’s elite teams. Tip-off for this matchup is set for 8:30 P.M. HKT.

Alvark, Broncos Debut In Tokyo

In Tokyo, Japan, Alvark Tokyo will face the Xac Broncos at 6:00 P.M. HKT. Alvark is one of the biggest brands in the B.LEAGUE and boasts a passionate fanbase. Their opponents, the Xac Broncos, are making history as the first Mongolian team to compete in EASL. The Broncos enter the season as back-to-back champions of the Mongolian Basketball Association’s “The League.”
