Ryukyu Golden Kings host Hong Kong Eastern in first EASL home game.

Where: Okinawa Suntory Arena

When: Wednesday, November 4, 2026, 6:40 P.M. HKT
Group: Group C
Team Records: Ryukyu Golden Kings (1-0) / Hong Kong Eastern  (0-1)‍

‍

THE RUNDOWN‍

Group C action brings a matchup between two teams with contrasting starts thus far in EASL Season 4.

While Hong Kong Eastern is back in action for the second time this season, they are still looking for that elusive first win after suffering defeat at the hands of Abra Weavers last October 3.

The Golden Kings, on the other hand, are fresh from an impressive road win over the Taoyuan Pauian Pilots last week. The squad showed their ability to perform under pressure, as they regained control of the game despite being down in the final period.  ‍

‍

RYUKYU GOLDEN KINGS‍

It was a thriller at the Taoyuan Arena, as the Golden Kings and the Taoyuan Pauian Pilots traded baskets and each squad refused to pull away. Despite opening a six point lead halfway through the final period, Taoyuan Pauian would rally back and regain the lead. But a clutch triple from Asian Import Kiefer Ravena down the stretch and timely free throws would help Ryukyu preserve the win, 103-9

Sota Oura was spectacular in the victory, contributing a team high 20 points to go along with 7 assists. Big man Jack Cooley would also tally a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds.‍

‍

HONG KONG EASTERN‍

Hong Kong Eastern was unable to play spoilsport on the home floor of the debuting Abra Weavers, as they fell to the Philippine-based squad, 79-72, at the SM Seaside Cebu Arena in Cebu City.

The team had difficulty finding any kind of momentum all game long, but they were still able to stay within striking distance in the fourth quarter. But Freddie Ibrahim put to rest any hopes for a comeback, as timely jumpers and free throws from their Asian Import preserved the victory for the home team.

For Hong Kong Eastern, Akili Vining led the way with 26 points and 8 assists, while Jenning Leung had a solid 20 points on 6 of 13 shooting.‍

‍

SPOTLIGHT STORYLINE: Golden Scoring or Stops?‍

If there’s one thing that Hong Kong Eastern needs to be wary of, it’s the Golden Kings’ efficient shooting from the perimeter.

After all, Ryukyu was able to make 16/33 triples, an absolutely efficient scoring clip. Conversely, Eastern was only able to make 12 triples in their loss to the Abra Weavers.

The Golden Kings have made no bones about their strategy, which is to outscore their opponents from beyond the arc. Can Eastern keep in step, or find ways to slowdown the hot shooting of the Golden Kings?
