Alvark Tokyo Clinch EASL Finals 2026 Qualification, Defeat New Taipei 92-79

Rossiter’s Triple-Double, Foster’s 29 Lead Alvark to EASL Finals berth in 1st Season

What Happened

Alvark Tokyo took down the New Taipei Kings 92-79 on their home floor to clinch a spot in the EASL Finals 2026 in Macau. Alvark became the first B.LEAGUE team to do so this season, extending EASL’s streak to three straight campaigns with at least one B.LEAGUE representative in the postseason.=

Alvark looked in control throughout, but the separation came after halftime. Tokyo led 20-13 after one and saw an eight-point cushion trimmed to 42-37 at the break when New Taipei’s Jalen Harris banked in a deep three at the buzzer.

Out of the break, Alvark blew the game open by outscoring the Kings 30–20 in the third quarter. Marcus Foster led all scorers with 29 points, while Ryan Rossiter posted a triple-double of 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. Harris paced New Taipei with 24, with Jason Washburn and Joseph Lin adding 15 apiece.

Alvark also controlled the details, finishing with 26 assists to New Taipei’s 15 and winning the rebounding battle 31-23, while limiting the Kings to just three offensive rebounds. Now, Alvark head to the EASL Finals in their first season in the league as the first team out of Group C to book a place in Macau.

What It Means

Alvark’s win over New Taipei keeps Tokyo top of Group C, improves them to 4-1, and officially clinches qualification.

New Taipei, however, is not out of it. At 3-3, the Kings can still advance depending on the result of Alvark’s final regular-season game against Mongolia’s Xac Broncos on February 11.

If Alvark defeats the Broncos, Xac would fall to 3-3, creating a tie with New Taipei. Under EASL tiebreaker procedures, the tie would be decided by head-to-head point differential between New Taipei and Xac across their two meetings.

New Taipei beat the Broncos 109-94 on December 6 (+15), and lost 90-76 (-14), giving the Kings a plus-1 advantage on aggregate. In that scenario, New Taipei would advance as the second seed in Group C, and the Broncos would be eliminated.

Player of the Game: Ryan Rossiter

Ryan Rossiter became just the fourth player in EASL history to record a triple-double, finishing with 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. He joins Damian Chongqui (Hong Kong Eastern), Kenny Manigault (New Taipei), and Assem Marei (Changwon LG Sakers) in the exclusive club.

Rossiter impacted every part of Alvark’s win. He created offense with sharp, on-time passes, punished mismatches in the post against a smaller New Taipei lineup, controlled the glass on both ends, and even pushed the tempo by leading the break when the opportunity was there.

Super Statistic: 56
Marcus Foster poured in 29 points to set a new EASL career-high for Alvark Tokyo’s newly acquired import, continuing a recent scoring surge. It marked the second straight game Foster established a new high after dropping 27 in Alvark’s previous outing against the reigning KBL champions, the Changwon LG Sakers.

Foster now has 56 points across his last two games, the most by an Alvark player over any two-game stretch this season.

Against New Taipei, he scored in every way. He knocked down catch-and-shoot threes, got downhill to the rim, slipped free on well-timed backcuts, and capped the first half with a two-handed reverse dunk that brought the home crowd to its feet.

Next Up

New Taipei closed out its regular season on the road with a loss to Alvark and will now have to wait for Alvark’s February 11 matchup against the Xac Broncos in Mongolia to learn whether the Kings earn a place in EASL Finals Macau 2026.

Alvark, meanwhile, has already qualified and can still strengthen its postseason position. With a win over the Broncos on the final regular-season gameday, Tokyo would move to 5–1 and remain in the hunt for one of the league’s two byes directly to the semifinals. Tip-off is set for 7:10 p.m. local time in Ulaanbaatar.
